| 'Tom Huddlestone wins Trust Award' posted by Paul Smith on 15/05/2007 |
Spurs Trust member Brad Matthews and Board member Paul Smith presented Tom Huddlestone with the fourth Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust Breakthrough Award after Sunday's final Premiership game at White Hart Lane.

It is quite appropriate that our opponents in this game were Manchester City, because the late Fred Dowry (in whose name the award was created) passed away en route to an FA Cup fixture at The City of Manchester Stadium in January, 2004.
The award is presented annually to the young player who (in the opinion of Spurs Trust members) has made the most impact in emerging into the First team during the season.
Tom Huddlestone has certainly made an impact this season. Although he made 4 susbstitute appearances in the 2005-6 season, he had to wait for the UEFA Cup tie in Prague (in September 2006)for his full debut, making his full home debut on 22nd October against West Ham.

In all competitions this season, Tom has made 25 full appearances, and 10 as substitute, scoring three goals, the best of which was arguably at Manchester City, where we won our first away League game of the season.
Tom is the fourth winner of the award, following in the steps of Rohan Ricketts, Stephen Kelly, and Aaron Lennon.
For the first time, the Trust was asked to present the award at the end of the season, and it was a great privilege to join the on-pitch celebrations after our European Tour was sealed with victory on Sunday. Aaron Lennon won the Young Player of the Season award, and Dimitar Berbatov won the Senior Player of the Season award.
Trust member Brad took the opportunity to try out the dug-out seats, and was grateful that he was the lucky Trust member to win the draw and the chance to take part in this year's presentation.
It could be YOU next season. See the Join The Trust Link for full details on how you could join. The Trust anticipates that it will soon be invited to one of the regular high-level meetings with club officials, and two of our ordinary members are always invited to that event too!
Congratulations to Tom Huddlestone on his well-deserved award.
Thanks as always to our own Derek Ridgers for the photographs.
